THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FOOD SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING (ICFSE) 2020

COVID-19 UPDATE

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Global Pandemic for COVID-19 on March 11, 2020. In order to comply with the WHO as well as our local government’s recommendation to cut the spread of COVID-19 by means of physical distancing, the committees of 3rd ICFSE have agreed to switch the conference format from a regular meeting to a webinar with the same schedule (29-30 September 2020). The technical details of the webinar will be provided to you after the acceptance of papers.

“Strengthening Collaborative Frameworks for Innovations in Food Science and Engineering: Contributions to Sustainable Development Goals”

The International Conference on Food Science and Engineering (ICFSE) has taken place in Surakarta, Indonesia in 2016 and 2018. Like the 1st ICFSE, the 2nd ICFSE has attracted enormous participation as 99 papers were presented during the conference. In response to this great enthusiasm, the 3rd ICFSE will be held again this year on 29-30 September 2020. This time, the conference’s theme is entitled “Strengthening Collaborative Frameworks for Innovations in Food Science and Engineering: Contributions to Sustainable Development Goals”.

As part of the Sustainable Development Agenda, the sustainable supply of food, clean water, and energy are becoming significant challenges for the future. Within the food supply chain, food safety and security as well as access to nutritious food requires a serious attention. The decreasing amount of arable farmland and the rapid growth of human population forced experts to discover new concepts of feeding the world through innovative research in the field of food science and engineering. The effort must be supported by an understanding on the importance of cooperation between scholars and practitioners all over the world. Therefore, the 3rd International Conference on Food Science and Engineering (ICFSE) 2020 is organized to facilitate all participants worldwide to share their insights and experiences in food science and engineering and other related fields gained from their contribution towards Sustainable Development Goals. Besides, this forum is expected to strengthen the international networking between Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) and other universities or institutions worldwide.
